After several days of pointing to the right location, the site all of the sudden pointed back to bluehost’s servers and support cannot tell me why. They insist it has something to do with my network or broswer caching but this doesn’t explain why it doesn’t work in Los Angeles, in Tokyo, or on any of the 5 computers and two networks in my own house.

I would have given it a 5, but all my sites went down for about 2 hours 6/22/2007 in the morning. So I give it a 4. It is the only time in the 12 months as a customer that I saw it go down. This is better uptime than all other hosts I tried, except YAHOO. All other hosts go down at least once a month. One I tried that advertised 99.5% uptime had my site down for 3 days. I quit that one and moved to inmotion. I have 3 sites with inmotion now.

No idea how good their technical support is, as I have never needed to use it!

However, their support is six feet under. Only one FTP account works and half the time, I can’t even connect to the server with http://FTP... They are okay in terms of loading times.

Short, they are okay as long as you only need one ftp account, pretty good uptimes and almost 100% uptime.

The reason I signed up for Site5 hosting was great price for all the features my sites required.
I, however, will not continue to use their services because I want to try my luck elswhere and see if I can get less downtimes, less MySQL breakdowns and more savvy tech support.

The other my MySQL database got corrupted for no apparent reason, and I asked the support for help. Their \”help\” consisted in clicking the \”repair\” option (which I already tried, and didn\’t work) and offering a month old back-up which would wipe out the very database I was trying to fix. In the end I fixed it myself because luckily I know a thing or two about \”teh internets\”, but most users need and deserve a better tech support.
